Policies

Payment Policy:

Orders under $100 must be paid in full. Payment is non-refundable and non-transferrable. Orders over $100 require a non-refundable 50% retainer. Orders over $400 require a non-refundable 50% retainer and a signed cake contract by the client. In order to confirm your booking date, you must submit your 50% non-refundable retainer AND return your signed cake contract if the dollar amount requires it. 

Booking dates are first pay, first serve. Submit your payment ASAP to guarantee your date is not taken by another paying client. Cake Me Away does not hold dates without payment. 

Invoices are valid for 24 hours to pay your retainer or the full balance (if it's under $100) or your invoice will be cancelled. A $25 administration fee will be added to any invoice that has to be reissued after the 24 hour expiration date. 

Final payments are due 7 days prior to the pick up/event date. If final payment is not received by the due date, then you will have 24 hours to submit the remaining balance plus a 10% late fee. The 10% late fee will be invoiced separately from your original invoice. If the remaining balance AND 10% late fee are not paid within that time frame, your order will be cancelled and you forfeit any payments submitted. 

Rush Order Policy:

All custom cakes should be ordered a minimum of 2 weeks in advance. Custom cakes ordered within two weeks of the desired date will be subject to a rush fee of $75. 

Cancellation Policy:

Please contact Cake Me Away ASAP for any cancellations. In no event shall we be required to refund any payment charged for any order. The sole remedies available to you in the event you cancel the order, or your event is postponed or rescheduled, are a credit on future invoices. Credits are valid one year from the original event date.

You acknowledge that Cake Me Away has the right to cancel the order in the event she becomes ill or has a family emergency. The Client will be contacted and informed of the same as soon as humanly possible. In addition to that the Client will receive a refund ONLY in such a circumstance. 

Pick Up/Delivery Policy:

All cake orders must be picked up by the client or a designated representative. Delivery is only offered for large cake orders and a delivery fee will apply. If the client sends a representative to pick up their cake, the representative assumes responsibility to ensure the cake is correct as ordered. 

The client/designated representative assumes all liability and responsibility for the condition of the cake once it leaves Cake Me Away's possession

If the cake is not picked-up within 15 minutes of the scheduled pick up time, you will not be able to pick up your cake without a 10% late fee paid first OR until the following business day if I am unavailable past the agreed upon time (10% late fee still applies for next business day pick up orders). Please take the time to take your cake order, my time and other client’s orders into consideration.

Cakes not claimed within 72 hours of the original pick up date will be forfeited and no refunds will be provided.

Allergy Policy:

Please let the baker know of any allergies before ordering your cake. Unfortunately, Cake Me Away cannot guarantee an allergen free environment as there are nuts and other allergens in the baking vicinity.
